And we have the daily special - Charcoal waffle with 3 scoops of ice-cream (Raspberry cheesecake, Cookies and Cream and Um-banana flavours) Personally i like the banana one the most, as it does bring out the well-blended banana taste. Not so sweet either. The rest taste normal though. Oh Yes, the waffle was too soft though, not crispy at all. It would be better to have bit of crispiness.

My reviews on this: Firstly, I think it is pretty expensive, though amounting to $5/pax but the portion is not there. Secondly, I tot the Sio Bak (fried pork belly) would be alot more crispier, but sad to say it's not. The taste is not there. Other than that, the prawns tasted fresh to me. In conclusion, a pretty normal taste of the hokkien mee.

Yes! It's Friday again! Another recent newly open cafe in Jurong West - Archipelago Creamery. Slightly special this time round as it is situated inside, or rather within Nanyang Community Centre. For those staying around the area, you will probably already know where it is. More pictures this time round!

These are some of the flavours available for Ice-cream. Do note that there are some premium flavours (additional $1.00 each) too. But I did test most of the flavours like at least 6 out of 10. They are almost up to their standards in term of taste!! Highly recommended: Rocher (though later I dint try because too popular already) !

I have to say that I like their theme!! Even water & cutlery point are so neatly decorated ~ Nice!

Charcoal Waffle with Ice Cream (Earl Grey Lavender and What-the-fudge), together with Salted caramel sauce. So far I prefer their waffle compared to Creamier (refer to my previous post). I'm not those that prefer very crispy one, and this one was really just nice for me. Together with salted caramel sauce, the taste of sweet (ice cream) and salty is really just nice! Good combi at least. Earl Grey Lavender - It has a very strong taste of lavender but meanwhile not forgetting having bit of Earl Grey to cover it back. Another strongly recommended flavour for ice cream. As for What-the-Fudge, it is basically chocolate. Bit of bitter and sweet. Good for chocolate lovers, cant miss!

Shibuya Toast with Banana and Chocolate, together with 2 scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream (this is fixed on the menu; you cant change the flavour of ice cteam) Not sure of topping up money works though, you may try. Firstly, just by looking you might think the bread is hard but to my surprise it is not. Maybe on the outer layer it can be slightly but still yummy enough! Let me show you the 'inside' ~

Cubes of bread which are already nicely cut for us. With the spread of butter on it and get it to be toasted! Perfectly done! Super yummy please! Go and try!

Good news for West-siders! This cafe just opened some time ago last month. It is like a Bistro cafe offering casual dining - more of western food that's pretty easy on the wallet. This time round I went on a Saturday afternoon, around 12plus. Not many people, still managed to get seats for 2 pax. But crowds start to fall in after us. Lucky us!

Browse thru the menu given on your table and place your orders at this counter. Make your payment at the same time, and no GST and service charge too.

Pretty spacious right! Roughly can fit about 45 pax in the neighborhood cafe, its good enough!

First recommended dish on the menu: Salted Egg Prawn Pasta ($12.90) The portion is big enough and because its with Salted egg, you tend to get 'sick' of it soon. For me, it does and partly because it gets more and more dry too (sauce). Prawns is fresh enough; but i think it might be processed one though.

Next on the menu: Honey Soy Chicken ($8.90). Hmmm it just taste like normal chicken chop, nothing special about the taste. Even for the fries and salad, just normal only.

Firstly, my apologies for not taking this photo properly. The lighting is a bit of problem in the restaurant. My bad! This is their Usual Wings ($6.50), together with barbeque sauce. It tasted like  those you buy from supermarkets in frozen packs. But its crispy enough, at least well fried!!

In conclusion, having this cafe out at a Jurong East neighborhood estate was pretty cool idea! It has a good ambience for a short gathering as people are pouring in now due to the publication from blogs. Reasonable price for a cafe and for the quantity, it's pretty worth it.

Cafe on a Sunday, after 4pm - the crowds wasnt that bad afterall.

Basically they have tiny tables and chairs everywhere - roughly can take about 25 pax in the indoor area. There is 2 more tables outside which roughly can sit about 6 pax too. They have some public/neighbourhood seatings about 50m away from the cafe - 4 tables. It was quite dirty and with bird shit stains here and there. Caution!

They really have quite a variety of flavours!! The only bit of problem is that they did not state which is the premium flavour, but i assume is those best sellers ones - E.g. Roasted Pistachio, Earl Grey etc. You might want to check with them when ordering. It's $0.90 extra on top of the price for a scoop.

Waffle with ice cream ($12.50) - Flavours: (Bottom) Thai Iced Tea & Roasted Pistachio, together with chocolate and maple syrup. Firstly, waffle is crispy - for those who preferred waffle to be in that sensuation. For me, i find it abit too hard and would  prefer it to be more softer. Thai iced tea ....... just thai iced tea. Nothing special about it. BUT roasted pistachio is the kill! It has a 100% flavour in it - totally in love with it!! The taste would still be lingering in your mouth! YES! [P/S: Do note that waiting time for waffle is about 15 minutes]

Next ice cream flavour: Butterscotch almond - I would say that the taste of almond is stronger than butterscotch so it kinda "cover'' the combi taste that it should be. Together with waffle, it costs $8.80 for a single scoop.

I did try 2 other flavours too -  Rums & Raisins & Sea Salt Gula Melaka. Sea Salt Gula Melaka is really too Gula Melaka. LOL! The taste is salty but with the aroma of gula melaka together with it. I would say I dont like it as I find the taste too strong. But if you are gula melaka/coconut flavour lover, then you might like the strong taste of it and according to my friend, he find it unexpectedly refreshing. As for Rums & Raisins, (*thumbs up*) I'm one that doesnt really enjoy rums & raisins but this one i would say it changes my views on it! Defintely one of the must try flavours too!

They do have water point for you after all the indulge of sweetness. And I actually checked with them and realised they made the ice cream themselves. Homemade?, i would say. Quite impressive eh! As for waffle - it's up to personal preference though cause I  have friend who prefer the crispy type. So please do go and give it a try! Something i would like to comment too - the idea of having a cafe in the neighbourhood is pretty interesting ~

My friend and I arrived there at around 2.30pm on a Sunday and its only about 2-3 pax in the queue and within 5 mins, we gotten our seats! They took our orders while we were queue-ing too. According to my friend, this restaurant has just renovated and been much more cleaner. Good! There are many seats around the restaurant, both the indoor and outdoor. I would say that the place has good ventilation, so don't worry about being too sweaty. Sometimes you might need to share table with others, depending on the crowds.

Cashier and food reception. I do notice that they have many helpers around too, so actually shorter waiting time to order and even serving the dishes. They have a drink stall behind at the corner, which is separate from this. So you pay your drinks separately.

Here it is - the famous seafood white beehoon (Small size, $5) If you are chilli lover, please eat it with their chilli or rather belachan. Power!! I won't say it is very spicy, so just give it a try! The ingredients they had is Sotong and prawns. Just that the vegetables could be bit bitter. The gravy is very savoury, together with the generous amount of eggs - it is perfect! Rating i would give 4/5. (highly recommended)

Here is the menu - and they do serve tze char too! Please pardon me for not taking the whole menu for you to see, but it's roughly there. To me, the price all seems pretty reasonable too.

Starting from the left of the picture, it is the restaurant whereby you may dine in and having those main courses - Starters, Quesdilla, Sandwiches, Burgers, Entrees and Pastas. Right in the middle of the whole stretch, you have the cafe where they allow you to take away and several tables and chairs too. I went on a Sunday and able to get a seat for 2 so shouldn't be a problem. I would say it is rather challenging for bigger group about more than 5 pax? Lastly, on the extreme right we had the merchandise shop where the huge fans of superheroes might be more interested too.

There is this "Joker" room in the cafe with only about 4 sets of tables and sofas. But i would say the concept is pretty cosy. Please pardon the uncleared table as the waitress was nowhere to be seen.
