Hiang Kee Seafood Restaurant (Malaysia, Johor Bahru)

Monday, September 09, 2013

I believe Singaporeans love to travel to Johor Bahru for seafood! Who's with me? So I went recently with 2 other friends after googling around for some seafood places. This is quite near to both KSL city and City Square, somehow in the middle.

Few options to travel there:
1) Take a cab from City Square or KSL city (Roughly about 8RM - without Meter)
2) Walkable distance from Taman Sentosa (15mins walk)

Exact Address:
Hiang Kee Seafood Restaurant (Malaysia, Johor Bahru)
Jalan Keris, Taman Sri Tebrau (Hawker Centre)
80500 Johor Bahru, Malaysia
Tel: 012 798 9303
Opening Hours: Daily 11am to 3am

Basically these are what we ordered. Only a few choices as there were only 3 of us. Haha will go back again to eat with a larger group hopefully.

One of the Signature dish: Butter Crayfish

And gosh! This dish is awesome! The crayfish basically is perfectly covered with butter - evenly spread. And the meat is sweet and chewy. MUST TRY!

Next: Chilli Crab

Chilli crab is not bad also. Not really very spicy, so should be ok for those not able to take spiciness one.
You may order the buns to go along with the 'sauce'? The buns are crispy and its nice. *dint take photos of it* Oops. Also, the crabs are definitely so fresh to eat! So safe to go ~

Next: Salted Egg Crab

Salted egg once is nice and definitely worth trying! The sauce is a bit different as some of the salted egg crab. It seems like the salted egg are blending it nicely and make into the sauce. It is so addictive!!!
This is the size of one normal crab, definitely worth the price too.

Lastly, Hotplate tofu (铁板豆腐)
It is filled with egg, and I love it. I believe for those egg - lovers, definitely a die die must try dish! The tofu is soft and tender. Do I sound wrong over here? HAHA. *Just-for-laugh* As for the sauce, it will be abit of salty but overall, it is nice. I will rate it 8/10. Remember to try it!

As per attached is the menu of Hiang Kee Restaurant, for your reference please!

.

LASTLY, ESPECIALLY FOR DURIAN LOVERS! ^^

As for this durians, it can be found by the roadside near the hawker centre. There are many stalls selling durians, and of cause at different price. Therefore, you might want to test market first before you decide on one. I ate one mao shan wang at 50RM. I think its definitely worth it, and there are about 10 seeds or more. I SIMPLY LOVE DURIANS!
